Making a thin/wide sheet of falling water - Any hints?

Rather than reinventing the wheel and falling at every hidden trap of what not to do, I thought I'd ask if there were any hints/tips as to the best) realistic way to make this?

I'm thinking of a sheet of falling water (around 8m wide) and (I guess) the minimum thickness, falling from a wide spout into a water channel.

I can make some particle mist at the bottom for a bit of a splash affect (though not quite sure how to make it wide enough without some experimentation) but I'm sure I'll come up with something :)

It's the water sheet itself.

the only thing I can think of it perhaps using 2 or 3 semi transparent prims laying against each other, with the "smooth anim" script (prob at different speeds for each of the 2 or 3 layers) making a static water texture slide down the prim.

Not sure if I have (well I probably don't!) have much in the way of good water textures to use at the moment, but before I attempt to make this, I thought it would be good to ask if there's a default "proven/standard" way to make what I'm talking about.

Am I going about it the wrong way and there's a good trick to use that makes this kind of thing look good?

Note: I'm not talking about an outside thick frothy fat waterfall, but more of an indoor thin sheet of falling water.

Thanks for any suggestions or tips you may care to share :)

I have a freebie waterfall prim that may be useful. I guess it's the water texture itself that makes or breaks a water effect. This one is probably too outdoor waterfallish, but it might be worth a look. IM me for a copy

Thanks for the offer, will do later (when home)

As you say, I guess its the texture (or textures) that are the killer, and the way (perhaps) multiple ones interact with others.

I did have a very quick (10 min) play this morning, and wonderer about making it a bit flexi with some SL wind effect, but you seem to very quickly go from a solid sheet to a flag waving in the wind effect!

So not sure I'll go down that route :)
