Alright, after hours of fussing with this, can someone give me some pointers as to how to make a pointed arch shape? I can get shapes to lean at an angle, but I can't seem to be able to make them bend in the middle. I'm trying to make something that looks like a clawor a steer's horn.
What shape/parameters do I need to be focusing on?
Also - single-prim detailed, flexi trees? Is that something that one can only get by creating a bunch of trees until you hit the right type of Linden tree, or is that something one can make on their own. There're some willows I'd like to have, but all the ones I see are no-modify and not quite what I want, or they're flat and non-moving.
Apologies if these questions are addressed elsewhere. I really looked.

What shape/parameters do I need to be focusing on? Take a torus, cut away 75% of it (path cut), and skew it all the way. One claw/horn, 2-seconds' work. Check the library section of your inventory. All the Linden tress are in there. You can simply drag them from inventory to the ground to rez them, just as you would any other object. Don't use the tree button on the editor dialog. That thing is really dumb. I don't think there is a Linden willow tree. If you want to create a willow tree of your own, you'll need to use at least two prims, preferably three or more, set in a crisscross pattern, with a picture of the tree against a transparent background. Examine the Linden plants for an example of how this is done. If you want the tree to sway in the breeze, set the flexi parameters on the prims to make them respond to the wind. As long as they all are the same size and have the same settings, they should sway in unison.

Search around for someone with a Prim Finder (I think that is the name). This is a fabulous device for creating unusual shapes.
Basically, it shows a large variety of shapes tortured to various degrees. You pick one that is more or less right, and it rezzes one for you. You adjust, and then use.
Very cool. Very educational, too.
