Hello Everyone,

Well I tried my hand at building my first project an small aquarium (Fish Tank). IMHO i think it looks pretty good ... so i built this aquarium, added a running water sound, a bubbles script ... but i have no water in the tank or fish !!! My question is can anyone help me with a "easy way to add water to the tank" and also is the fish a script that i can find in-world? any help would be much appreciated. TIA

Well... both are easy ^^

For the water, make a box slightly smaller than the aquarium itself, so you can see the box *inside* of the glass. Texture it with a water texture and give it a smooth texture animation script (If you need one, lotsa freebie places have water kits and such too.. if allelse fails I can send you the script I use, called 'toys water')

So there's your water. Even better would be to make the top sculpty so it looks more natural..thats your choice. I just use boxes lol.

The fish, just make a box or cylinder with a picture of a fish as the texture on the visible side(s). Then add a small sphere near it, and put a rotation script in it. Link them together with the sphere as the root (last selected) prim and you should have a moving fishy!

Tada =P

The simplest way is to put a prim over the top, recessed down a little bit, and give it a water texture.

To make it look more like there's really water in the tank, make the tank in two parts...the above water part and the below water part. For the below water part, make it about 70 to 80% transparent, and give it a slight blue green tint. Make the above water part nearly clear.

You can save a prim by using a custom texture on the sides of the tank...slightly blue green from water level to the bottom, and nearly transparent from the water level to the top.

For the top of the water, use a thin rectangular prim, and surface it with a water texture. You can get scripts that will animate the water texture, too, making it appear to ripple "outwards" from the bubbles.

For fish, I've used Supa Shang's tropicals, and his excellent fish rezzer...which keeps the fish from eating too many prims. However, there are other great fish vendors as well.

Hey I thank you both for the excellent reply's ... they both sound easy enough to do. I will give them a try tonight after work. But first i need to do some shopping for the scripts you both recommended. Any recommendation on some good places to find these scripts?

again thank you both of the help!!!!

Just sent you the water script in-world. No sounds in it, though... I find them annoying myself when used multiple times inone object, so I rarely use them.
