Has anyone seen the ACME Hole in the Wall on SLE? ( http://www.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=73342) It seems to be a device that lets you get past security doors, any builders have any opinions on this? Build a better security door/system? It would seem like, unless you can/want to limit access to your own land, renters expecially, aren't going to have any sort of privacy. May not mater that much since, you can already manipulate your camera to see inside closed spaces. Seems like a pretty popular item on SLE though, I myself have been having lots of fun with it. ;P

Its so much easier (not to mention cheaper) to just swing your camera into where you want to be and sit on something inside. No extra prims to rez or anything, just swing, sit, and stand. Boom, yer in. Nothing inside to sit on? Rez a cube and sit, then move it inside and stand up.

That ACME Wall in the hole is just a circular prim with a sit target?

My guess it "teleports" you inside via a sit target.

That's why I use Psyke's Home Defense System. You can get the location of Psyke's shop from "Find Places"... search for security. The system can be set for legal ejection/teleportation to get people out, can be set not to attack people over land you do not own, and is otherwise highly configurable. And no... I do not work for/with Psyke. I just really dig his products.

I concur. I've often ranted about poorly-placed security scripts, but there is a time and place for 'em, and Psyke's is good if you aren't into making your own. (In my case, I could, but it's easier to pay Psyke. )

Too bad it doesn't let you see threw the wall. I've been trying to replicate a invisiprim error I saw earlier by accident. It let you see right threw all the prims and all you would see is the ground. Are all invisiprim textures the same? Or do some do weirder things? I already know about the Open GL bug and I no longer need to cut a hole in someone else wall, but it's still an interesting idea.

Too see through a wall: Move your camera inside, or... Debug menu -> Rendering -> Types -> Simple (or alpha if windows)
To move through a wall: Rez a prim, sit on it, move it inside, or... or just sit on something already inside
No need to buy anything, and the ACME thing isn't really a threat since it doesn't do anything you can't do without it.
