Streaming Media won't play after session

Don't know where this would fit, but I suspect here.

I currently rent a 1024 parcel on a private island.

After watching Torley's tips on adding media to your property, I immediately made a big-screen TV for my home (still under construction. I don't have a roof, but I already have a TV) and loaded a URL. It worked great, and I thought "this is going to be fun for visitors."

However, when I came back in a later SL session, it didn't work. I went to YouTube and found another video and added it. That worked. Great. Except you can guess the result later when I logged in from another computer.

Someone suggested maybe a permissions on the land might restrict these. I think it wouldn't have worked in the first place. Besides, I know the island's owner and he probably would have said something since I had mentioned that I added a video link.

I wonder if there's an objects permission causing this somehow?

Of course my other thought is YouTube rotates URLs or something.

Anyway, I would have liked to make a line of TVs at some point, but not if people take them home and the things don't work.

Have to add that I just changed the URL and it didn't work. I cleared the URL and added another URL, and it worked. Very strange.

Obviously this isn't the board for this question. Can anyone point me in the right direction or move this thread?

Thanks!

Try the scripting forum too.
Just a thought: have you tried something else than you tube? All the video's I have seen there stops again when they are done - have you watched it to the end in SL yourself? . Try an online TV that broadcast continuously and see what happens.

"Of course my other thought is YouTube rotates URLs or something."
I'm almost certain that that's your problem. This was precisely the problem they ended up discussing on Torley's blog post (http://blog.secondlife.com/2008/05/24/play-youtube-videos-in-second-life-video-tip-of-the-week-35/#comment-607844).

Ah thanks - so it ISNT me... I never really went to the site blog - just subscribed to the video.

The guy's lucky - his tutorials always seem to work on his property and in that linden castle place.
