I recently purchased a rather large lot (11,264), which has some gulleys in it. If I use the revert land tool, will it revert the land back to what it was when it was originally designed? I'm afraid of screwing something up!

I'm afraid of screwing something up! revert will slowly return it to its 'natural' state, yes. Often just selecting it all and raising i will do the same thing, but revert is generaly safer.. however, this doesn't mean it will be flush with the land around it if your neighbours have terraformed

Revert sends the land elevations back to where it was the last time the sim owner "burned a .raw file" and saved the terrain state. For mainland sims, that means it reverts back to the original Linden design for the terrain, as they never burn any new changes. For private sims, that may revert to 5 minutes ago, or to what it was a hundred terraform changes back! Be VERY careful with 'revert. It is NOT an "undo" for what you just did, and there is no "Undo" feature to cancel a revert once you do it.

Honeybear,
If you use the tool directly, and don't "apply to selection," it's slow like Okiphia says. You'll quickly see the trend that it's heading for without doing any "damage." In my experience on mainland parcels, the reverted state is always better than the silly stuff other owners did to the land. So I'd have very little worry about the worst that could happen.

Forgot to mention that yeah.. i'm used to just using the tools directly, i only select if making huge changes so didn't think to say it =P

Edit, select land, click and drag. You can select the whole land and raise it, lower it, etc etc etc. too.

From: HoneyBear Lilliehook Thanks Kahiro Also, if its a whole parcel you want to do, right click the ground and wait for the yellow borders to pop up. If they don't first try, try again till they do. Once you see the borders, click edit terrain. This will cause it all to stay selected while you edit till you select a different part ^_^
