My problem is changing the textures for some hair I made. I can change the texture but I can't get the hair to stay textured with the new texture. When I take the hair off and reattach it there are some prims that go back to the previous texture.
They just won't stay the new texture...I tried texturing it attached, I tried rezing it (which seems to work a little better) I even tried 'edit linked parts' to change just the problem prims, and still the texture reverts back once I take it off and reattach it. After hours of texturing 32 hair colors (which should of only taken a few minutes) I still have some that have a few stray hairs that won't retexture.
I've been making hair for a while and I've never had problems like this. Usually, I only experience this when the sim is crowded or laggy but now it seems to happen all the time. Anyone have any tips or anything to texture quickly?
Oh, and before anyone asks, the prim/object is not locked or anything else like that. I CAN change it it just won't stay that way.

SL's been really bad lately with texturing multiple surfaces at once. I don't have a solution, but at least I can commiserate with you, for whatever that's worth. When textures keep reverting, I usually just apply the new texture about a hundred times real fast with the picker. When I've banged the keys hard enough, and after I've torn out enough hair, SL eventually gets the message.

Nothing else I've done has worked. Thanks for the advice

It now takes longer to texture my hair than it does to make it...the lag issues are really getting insane, which is one of the many reasons I won't get a premium account. I really feel for the people who spend hundreds of dollars a month on this game.

Need to retexture hair fast!
01-03-2007 18:39
Ok tough to explain. I need to retexure a lot of hair fast! Some of the hair I sell uses multiple textures of course. Is there a way to just click the hair and replace texture A with texture B and texture C with texture D? Right now I would need to click all the textured A prims and then choose texture B from my inventory and then go through and highlight the textured C prims and then choose texture D. Seems a bit more work than it could be. All I want to accomplish is texture replacement. If there is a way that would be awesome!!!
edit: reposted in designs and texturing.
