I looked up and down through knowledge base one thing I couldn't find was explaination of what a hud is and what it does.
Can someone explain this to me?
Also can someone direct me tutorial on how to do waterfalls, make my water look correct?

HUD and Water

A HUD is a heads-up-display. usually a little gui on the screen for controlling something or other, such as a talking penis.

Water is usually just a block, torus, or other shape, with a water texture on it. The texture can be "animated" by making it move every so often, using a script.

Fancier features for the more advanced.

Look in your library in inventory. There are scripts and textures there for making waterfalls and other water features.

Most good waterfalls will consist of multiple layers of transparent or translucent prims, each running an animation script that moves a water texture on their surface, and will often also have a particle script that creates the 'mist' around the waterfalls splash areas. Examples of all of these are in the Library in your Inventory. Open the scripts and read the comments to learn how they are used.

One example of an HUD is the controls for facial expression on some prim avatars. For example, the Jakkal's Werehouse "Advanced" fox and wolf avatars have a small display that appears in one corner of your screen, and allows you to control the ear positions, mouth expression, and tail position, as well as wagging the tail.

Personal security scripts and aninmation overriders are another couple of uses for HUDS.

An HUD is visible only to the one wearing it. No one else sees a control panel floating near you.

Sorry, LL won't let me tell you where I sell my textures and where I offer my services as a sim builder. Ask me in-world.

You may try searching for waterfalls in-world and checking them out to see which shapes are used, how and which designs interest you.

This may help you get an idea of how the multi-layering affects the overall look of the feature, the speed of the flow, and how the sounds can add ambiance.

I figured there was layering of sorts but I am clueless of how to use the particle generator or mist, or how to animate the items

IM me in-world and I'll show you my waterfall and walk you through the steps I took to get the layers flowing at different speeds, mist/animations...etc.

I also have some mist makers I can give you if you do not care for the LL mist.

Best,

I have waterfalls at the SL Botanical Gardens in Federal from 4 different artists, you can see a variety of styles and ways water can be sculpted.

I just figure out how to make prim jello which would be handy for water.
Grr I just went through too much Linden's trying to get snow fountain that I can't seem to show up where I want.
For me I am not buying any more linden's or stuff I don't know how to use at least for now.
I will look you up for the lesson I have mist and all the stuff but no clue how to use it.
