Hey, I'm a bit of a newbie here in SL and well, I'm building an x-wing replica from star wars. But the problem is, so far it's 129 primitives, and will likely end up around 150. Is there any way to ever turn this into a moving vehicle? Or after the 31 prim limit is it just not going to happen? Thanks.

I have no hands on experience, but my understanding is that you have part of your vehicle as an attachment to your avatar to get around the prim limit. I'd like to know more about how to do this myself.

I have a pirate ship that is over 250 prims. 27 prims is the vehicle itself. When 'parked', and no one is riding it, the vehicle self-rezzes a 250-prim static part for the rest. When you take control of the ship by riding it, it de-rezzes the static part and attaches a 250-prim attachment to the pilot's pelvis, which thus moves with the vehicle, giving the illusion that the vehicle is over 250 prims.

if you want a normal moving vehicle it has to be under 29 prims for it to be mobile. its a self rezz object and you dont have to attach it to yourself.

I thought it has to be 30 or less? (30 +1 avatar = 31)

There is a script in existance for large prim vehicles and they do exist. I wish I could point you at the script but I can't sorry but at least you can try to find it.

I use Jesrad Seraph's nonphysical vehicle scripts for mine. They're a bit squirrelly to drive, but if you have a really fun big prim vehicle, it's worth it. I got a copy at AngryBeth (something)'s store, it was in the notecard for the Magrathean ship.
