I have some oceanfront property. I bought a diving board and a slide and would love to have the water splash and ripple when I enter it. Is there a way to add a script to a large body of water that is part of the property I own? If not a large area, I'll take 10 round meters.

Siggy Romulus has wonderful pools, slides and diving boards at WaterWorks that work with a special type of prim water that reacs to his "Swimmer" attachment, but so far as I know you can't add it to the Linden water of the ocean... have you considered, perhaps, a nice pool that backs up to the ocean?

Siggy's Swimmer attachment does work with default, non-prim water

I have one of Siggy's pools

But it is too shallow for diving. I will try having the swimmer attachment on when i dive.
I was thinking I could make an invisible object with a splash script and just set it at teh water's surface. Would that work? |

Ought to. If you can hit a phantom prim and have it play a sound, like 'fake' pools can, you can hide one in the water under your board and slide.

It is quite possible to place one or more prims of Siggy's "Prim-swim Water" immediately above the surface of actual Linden water. If you do that, you should see his scripted 'splashes' while using his Swimmer attachment. I have a Siggy pool in Kitsune that has its water level just millimeters above the actual water table of the sim, and the area beneath it excavated below the Linden water plane. It works great! The splashes and ripples work fine.
If you do this on open water, you will probably see the edges of the prim-swim prim. Placing that prim plane slightly below the Linden water surface might fix that. My pool is on the South side of the Kitsune sim, in an area fenced off by a bamboo fence in the 'back yard' of the NCD Embassy, which is a 20 M diameter, round, two-story building with a glass domed roof. Feel free to enter the NCD Parcel and check it out! SLURL Link to NCD Swimming Pool _____________________
Sorry, LL won't let me tell you where I sell my textures and where I offer my services as a sim builder. Ask me in-world.
