Without using a mega-prim, what approach should I take to construct a 30m diameter hemisphere? I have been twisting and torturing different types of prims and cannot seem to come up with any kind of sections that would work - but I know that it must be possible.
My thought was to use a simple box prim and bend/twist it into a sectional shape that I could replicate to build the curve, but I just can't get it right.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Sounds like you could use a Shapemaker. They construct large spheres/torii out of multiple prims (see Avaria sim for examples of a lot of Shapemaker hemispheres)  Search for it inworld and if you ca't find one, IM me and I'll send one to you.

A great thanks to both of you - this means I won't have to do as much math as I thought - yay!
I am looking forward to finding both of those tools when I am inworld tonight - they sound very useful!

One caveat. Shapemaker works by generating LOTS of relatively small flat prims. It's lovely, but it's also a prim hog.
