I hope this is not a goofy answer! Take it in inventory and right click, attach and then pelvis or stomach. It is good to make one for both places and then there is a way to wear skirts and belts too. Then spin it to fit right and you are done. Take it off when it fits and wait a minute before it goes back on, then the position will save and you do not have to do it again if you crash.

Right-click on the tail in your inventory, go to "Attach To >", select the attachment point you want to use and then edit the tail into the correct position. I *think* for a tail pelvis or stomach are preferred; these move appropriately while spine moves along with the chest (but check this for yourself - I might've got that the wrong way around).

not to derail, I've got a cool fox flexi type neko tail, but it fails to hang down. I've tried editing it, re-attaching it and spinning it to hang down, but when i click off, it just flips back out at 90 degrees...........

That can happen on a twitchy tail, the script can fight with you. If you have that kind it might let you reposition how you want if you stop the twitch first. Do you have that kind of tail?

yep cerise very twitchy...thinks its FK foxs tail or something and flicks about all the time. It's driving me bonkers. It just flips back out horizontal, before I have time to save it down. I noted what you said earlier.

It just flips back out horizontal, before I have time to save it down. I noted what you said earlier. Oh. Maybe this can be easy, maybe it will be hard. I hope that your tail lets you copy and modify so experiments can be safe. I do now know FK fox tails but most tails work the same. A script in the root makes little rotations and wags the tail. Some scripts turn on and off with a touch and some have commands. I hope you got a note card with the tail if there are commands. A nice tail script remembers the rotation when it starts. A mean script will reset the rotation every time, maybe you have that kind. I hope you can find a way to turn off the twitch and that it will remember your rotation, then you can be done. If you have a mean script then maybe the tail lets you modify it. You can take it to a no script place and edit linked parts and turn the root prim down some. Then it will still move the same way but not stick straight out. Maybe you can leave the prims be and take out the twitchy scripts, you could replace them with scripts that you like better.
