Anyone who crafts knows that unless you change your camera angle before doing an edit, the system thinks its doing you a favor by changing your camera angle. This idiotic sustem "thinks" it knows better then you, even when it sticks your camera on the other side of the wall or roof where you can no longer even see the object you are editing. After hundreds of edits and too many times I have had to cancel everything, change my camera angle and try again, I am just fed up. I am looking at an object, I do an edit, now why would anyone in their right mind think I need my camera angle changed?? And how could some programmer think they can give me a better angle then the one I wanted. I want to know if this is a bug or some twisted joke? If this is some kind of feature, I want the option to turn this screwed up POS trash feature off!

Oh, and while on the subject of camera angles, in "edit", I want all controls but my own turned off. I don't want to be moving an item near the edge of the screen and suddenly camera swings around and zoom, the item I was moving is suddenly sent off to never never land. HANDS OFF MY CAMERA!

GOOD DAY TO YOU LONIKI! :D

Give this a spin... go into PREFERENCES ---> INPUT/CAMERA and see where it says "Automatic Edit Camera Movement"? Just uncheck that.

OMG, I even sent a bug report on this and no one ever said you can turn it off, lol.
Perhaps this should be default off. I been crafting a while and I can't think of a time that I would want my camera angle changed...

Thanks for the info :)

Welkies! There once was a time when this feature didn't exist... I'm so glad it does now. Happy building! =^_^=

Loniki, you can also open the build menu using the handy CTRL-3 shortcut (CTRL-4 for create, CTRL-5 for edit land) - it will leave your camera position untouched, no matter what settings you have in preferences.

Does anyone actually find this feature useful? I'm surprised it's still the default.

I've turned off automatic camera movement and I still have problems, sometimes, with objects zooming off into never-never land because I'd twitched my mouse the wrong way.

The editor shouldn't let you drag an object out of editing range.

Haha, I just was on with live help last night about this too. Mine still does it sometimes even with it disabled. And man I've lost a lot of important stuff when you go out of range and....ooops! there she goes!

I was getting really annoyed yesterday when I was remodelling my house... sorry 'bout that Juro :)

I wondered if I should look for a solution on the forums..

And voila... great timing :)

Actually, I kinda like it. Its only really frustrating if your switching in and out constantly, in my experience.

Me too. Like you go to zoom in on something and end up zoomed way out, or some weird, unpredictable direction. I'm going to start bug reporting these.
