I have read somewhere about a neat trick for joining copied prims to each other that was simpler than positioning the prims the correct distance apart...but I can't seem to find it now, and would like to know if anyone can help with this...

Provided the prims you are copying are twice the size of your grid size (set in the Options next to the Use Grid option in the edit window) along the axis you want to position them on, you can use the basic grid controls to align prims. Just hold SHIFT and drag the object to copy it along that axis and then move it using the grid to position it.
If the prim, or group of prims, is not some uniform size then you can use the "Copy Selected" option in the Create menu. Here are the steps:
1. Build your prim or object to be copied. 2. Make sure all of it is selected, then press CTRL+4 (or click the magic wand) to change to Create mode. 3. With the objects still selected, tick the 'Copy Selected' option and make sure the 'Centre Copy' option is also ticked. 4. With the objects still selected, click on the side of the selected prims (with the magic wand) where you want the copy to be placed against.

Thanks Gaz, it was the Copy Selected version that I once used, then forgot.... I will write it down this time!
