What used to work before seems to be broken now; scenario:
- I have a vehicle which I'd like to sell as copy/mod/no-transfer. - I insert a copy/no-mod/transfer animation inside one of the seats.
When I right click the link set, I can set next owner permissions to be copy/mod or transfer, I pick copy/mod only.
When placed into inventory via take, if I right click the item and pick properties, the mod permissions become grayed out even though I've set them initially to be mod. At this point I can no longer give the item to next person with the permissions I'd like to.
Is this a bug? working as intended?
according to the sticky above:
"If an inventory item inside of an object is no-modify, the object itself can still be modified. Conversely, if an object is not modifiable, it's contents cannot be modified."
I've looked at the jira but couldn't find a similar issue. Any thoughts?

it should only show that way in inventory, but will work as expected when rezzed... it's a "feature" of the permission system to tell users that at least some part of it is no-mod... which I think does more to confuse people than to help them...
you could instead of dropping the animation in the seat, instead call it by it's uuid from the script to eliminate the no-mod flag showing in inventory

The object should show no mod in your inventory but when it gets rezzed should still be modifiable. Have you had an alt or a friend purchase to make sure the item transfers correctly?
