When an owner disapears

I have a question about owners of things when the owner disapears.

In particular, a quasi-popular vendor for furs, Jarhyn Wilde, seems to have been deleted. He no longer shows up when doing a people search.

However, his vendors and store still exists. I still see people using them.

So the questions are:

1) What happens to the money people are 'paying' him, if he doesn't exist anymore
2) What will happen to his store(s) and vendors in the longer term.

and anciliarilly

3) Anyone know what happened to him? I found out he no longer existed when I tried to contact him a few days ago. I haven't found any information to suggest what might have happened.

I could be wrong, but I think if an account is cancelled, any rezzed content left behind stays for 30 days and then it poofs. As for where the money goes, I'd guess it's going nowhere.

Are the vendors and land still owned by him? If I were to leave SL would probably give all of my business objects to a friend. Let them benefit from the stuff.

i IM'ed him as a welcome,turns out he dont exist,he owned land and whatnot,and left SL and abandon it,land says it is owned by him,but he didnt sell it,nuthin,

I'd like to know what happened to Jarhyn Wilde as well. He still had a vendor in the Rainbow Tiger Mall, not long ago. And while you can't find him with a search in 'Find', you can still bring up his profile from the profile link on any item that he ever made.

I bought one of his products at Rainbow Tiger mall after he vanished from Find, and the vendor delivered the goods OK. Weather he got the funds or not, I can't say.

It would be a shame if he's gone. He made some decent quality products.

The last time I saw one of his vendors, the rent had expired on his space. The vendor was still there, but would likely be removed by the mall owner after a certain number of days passed with no rent. The policy on that depends on the mall owner. A different merchant that I knew was 10 days late on his rent once, and the mall owner let it slide. He just renewed the rent, and it was all good. Yet most locations will return your vendor as soon as your rent expires. I've had that happen when I was only a couple days late.

Haven't even seen any of his vendors in a week or more, and I've been to several places where he used to be quite visible, as I renewed by own rentals.

Where is his active vendors at.. last location I had isn't there anymore..

Since you guys asked, some info I've been able to dig up elsewhere on the net reveals that he was banned. What for, I do not know.

Sorry to hear that. I suspected that might be the case, but had no way to tell. Never met him in person, so I haven't a clue why he might have been banned. But I know a lot of people, especially among the furries, really appreciated his products. So I rather hope that they allow him to return, some day.

The land is currently owned by Govenor Linden. The stuff on it is still Jarhyn's. I was hoping to upgrade my equipment as I have one of the old 2.0 and I see he was at least up to 2.1...

I guess that will be impossible now I wonder if the differences are great enough to warrant buying 'new' before it all disapears.

Anyway, the location I have for his stuff is in Sugarloaf 160,82,85.

I know a kid who went missing in my town who played sl and he was younger. Nobody new were he went to but he died. After he died there was no activity on his sl account and then all of sudden it dissapeared.

His parents didnt do anything to it

From what I understand cancelled accounts are not entirely deleted from the system since you can reactive a closed account (under normal circumstances). Whether or not someone is booted from rented land depends on the landowner I guess... though if they own the land themselves, it would depend on whether or not they're still paying tier fees. It's possible that someone could have it for the remainder or the month or even longer if they paid in advance. Beyond that, I dunno why someone's objects would remain and I have no idea where money earned would go.

I managed to track Jarhyn down, and he indicated he was in communication with Linden labs over the issue and hoped to return soon.

As for his products, it appears someone else has picked up his 'legacy' as it were, as I found a vendor selling new versions. Stupid as I am now, I cannot recall where I found it or the name of the person who owned it.
