I was wondering how easy it would be for the Lindins to add a option that completely hides your av ingame but allow for attachments to still show where you can easily make odd shaped avs with no problems and no use of invisiprims, I think it would be a very handy addition and it shouldnt be that difficult to add to SL, please leave comments and other suggustions, and I would love to hear from an offical Lindin on the subject

If LL ever decides to make it a supported feature, it would be nice to have greater control over what is made invisible.
The invisiprim makes anything with an alpha texture invisible. This means that it makes water and trees invisible as well as avatars. Definitely, would be nice to have something that is specific to avatars. Might also be nice to have something that makes non-alpha textures invisible, though I'm not quite sure how it should work. Realistically, however, I doubt that this will happen without corresponding improvements in privacy features. _____________________

I dont see how it would raise any privicy issuse, since it only would mask the main avatar not the name above your avatar, and it would open up alot more possibilites for diffrent prim av builds, without worrying about making some areas behind the av invis aswell for instance they could just impliment a null function for the main skeleton but it wouldnt interfeer with the attached prims |

i think all we would need is an alpha base
skin that we could change like the tatto layers. it could be done we already have invisable avs when we log in ![]() would be great for prim shoes as well. oh and if ya need privacy just log off ![]() your name would still show anyway and you can use ground hide now to hide the av so its moot point ps. this is in the vote section for an alpha skin if more ppl would vote for this...... -LW |
