Can I get rid of the yellow highlight?

I've looked through my preferences, but I can't seem to get rid of the pretty yellow highlight that surrounds selected objects. Ordinarily it's very helpful, but for really tight alignment it gets in the way and makes the edge of the prim almost impossible to see. Is there a work around? Am I missing something?

Before you go recommending Prim Docker - I do use that script and it's works great, but not on triangles. At least not for me. Yes, I know I'm crazy trying to work with triangles as a novice builder. But I am getting very close to what I envisioned. Thanks -- KC

Currently, the feature is only [EDIT: "only" turned out to be inaccurate] available as a tweak that can be done before loading up Second Life. However, considering the repeated requests for it, perhaps we should ask for a hotkey of it in JIRA. Anyways...

http://www.garhunt.com/hunter188/html/fun_with_sl_ui.html explains the trick.

The basic concept is, you just look in C:\Program Files\SecondLife\app_settings\colors.ini, and follow the instructions from there. Making them invisible is just a matter of setting the "alpha" to 0.

It is also possible in the debug menu which is CTRL+ALT+D, then in the client menu debug. not sure under which heading it is though

I may try the client menu as I only wanted to temporarily turn it off. As it is, I have been selecting a prim, moving the numbers in the parameters a little, and then deselecting to see where and how much the thing moves.

Thank you. -- KC

You may still be correct -- I haven't been able to use the debug thingie or perhaps I just don't understand it yet.

Thanks for all the above suggestions though. -- KC

Just go to the Debug menu as stated above. Scroll to SelectionHighlightAlpha and set the value to zero. Log out and ReLog in. This should pretty much remove the yellow highlight.

Ah! It's a pull / scroll down menu. I didn't see the little arrow at first.

Now I've got it working and there is only the barest hint of a thin line. It's perfect and I don't need to make it temporary. You are all geniuses! -- KC

now all you have to worry about or deal with is after you get it perfectly aligned and SL decides you did not work hard enough and shifts one of the prims

GRRR that needs to be in my pet peeves thread... soooo annoying
