Hi all
How can I build a cube with round hedges, like the sofa's pillows? Is there a simple way of doing it?

There are two methods. One is to make the shape from a sculpted prim (sculpty). See the sculpty wiki for more details on that. wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Sculpted_Prims You'll need to know how to use a third party 3D modeling program to do it.
The other method is to construct the shape from regular prims. You'll need at least nine of them. The cube goes in the middle. Around it, you'll put a cut cylinder on each side, and a cut sphere at each corner.

Well, you might not need nine. You need the cube, and then one for each edge or corner that you want to *see* as curved. So, for the front of a couch cushion, you might only need the cube plus three.
If the beveled/curved edge is not too severe, an artist might be able to draw a texture that gives the illusion of curves.

The SIMPLEST way is to spend a few lindens on SLX (they have a Sculpted Prims section), and texture with leaves Tons of sculptie shape kits there. .

There are a lot of free sculpties about, including a couple of cubes with rounded edges like you describe.... there might even be some in your library already from Linden. I think the name is "beveled cube" or something... IM me in-world if you can't find it and I'll pass them on to you.

From: Nuno McCullough Hi all
How can I build a cube with round hedges, like the sofa's pillows? Is there a simple way of doing it? I think you meant to say: "How can I build a cube with round edges, like the sofa's pillows?" There are some free sculpty prims available in SL that do this, send me an IM in world and I will send you a copy.

Oh, THAT kind of edges!

LOL. I read the post literally and went the wrong way with it. I've been doing some landscaping recently and have been thinking about making hedges that have gentle profiles instead of the blocky ones you see all the time in SL. It didn't occur to me until just now that OP meant "edges." I am so slow ...... Thanks for the ideas on how to make rounded hedges, though.
