I need advice please. I am learning to expand my horizons and build a little. Can anyone tell me some tools that might make experimenting in building easier for me? I can't make judge and/or make straight lines.

I think your best bet would be to get very acquainted with the SL building tools before you try some of the 3rd party add ons. There are some excellent Video Tutorials at the below link.
Toward the bottom of the list there is a "Content Creation" section. I place great emphasis on using your camera controls as a building aid, and since you're not new to SL, I'm sure you can really zoom around with your camera controls. I have tried many of the 3rd party building tools but use none of them except for "Jack in the Box" which is a building packager. Another tip is to go to the IBM sand box (search IBM in "All" and look at the HUGE Billboard they have there with pictures of all the variations of the basic SL shapes. The most important thing is to have fun at it. Ivory tower of prims is awesome for staged learning -- i go back every now and again for a refresher.

Thank you both! I have found the Prim Finder by Crystal Gadgets extremely helpful, actually, the Prim Finder is what has inspired me to try my hand at building a few things. And, I definitely couldn't do anything without my Texture Assistant. I guess am looking for what gadget/tools are out there that would help me build or make building much easier.

Check out the tutorials. For example, there are grid tools in-world that make it pretty easy to line things up.

Morgaine, the single best thing you can do for yourself is the Ivory Tower of Primitives (in-world).
2nd best thing: learn to build by numbers, not by eye. And while you are learning, don't rotate anything until the item is completed. _____________________
