you can't make megaprims now, it was a bug and the window of opportunity to make them was closed very quickly. for the item to be in your own name, never have a megaprim as the root prim, it's that easy.

Get the SALT HUD, its free and can be found on Xstreet. Best way I can describe it is a megaprim fetcher. You don't need to have a ton of different ones in your inventory, either (I read on a different thread about someone with over 7,000 megaprims in their inventory). You tell it the dimensions you want and it will find the one you want if it exists, otherwise, it gives you a list of megaprims that are close in size. I use it constantly and have never had a problem with it.

The SALT HUD will not make you the "Creator" of the prims, though. It only accesses them conveniently from a library maintained elsewhere. And not all available sizes of megaprims are in the SALT HUD. I know the 300+ that I made are not in it, though of course some other sets duplicated some of the sizes I created.

if any one has any advice

Just make sure the yellow prim in the linkset, is one that shows you as creator. (if you made a skybox, add a rug). The yellow one is the "last one selected" before linking.so you can do this cool trick.

1. select your linkset
2. hold down shift
3. click the prim you want to be the "parent" (this will DESELECT it)
4. continue holding shift
5. click the parent prim again
6. link as ususal

This "deselect-reselect-link" trick is really easy, once you get the hang of it. Only problem is that there's a limit to how far apart things can be when you link them, so it sometimes helps if your parent prim is near the middle.

Failing that, put your name or store name in the object description. That way, when the megaprim makers tell the potential customer "I don't know who made it but it wasn't me" they're that much more likely to see your name.
