Any interest in a basic offline modeler? A friend and I have been working on an augmented reality modeler, that lets you create and import buildings etc. into SL.

The program is nearly complete - we just need to fix some issues with object manipulation and textures (and think of a name for it -- any ideas?). We should have a beta release ready in January. In the meantime, keep checking my webpage for updates:
http://www.ece.ualberta.ca/~fahmad (See ARMouseHouse halfway down the page) The way it works is that a webcam is used to track a marker that you can move to change the view. Simple primitives are used for building, like in Second Life, and you can also insert more complex 3d models (which will not be exported to SL). What kind of features are SL architects looking for in an offline build tool? |
