Can anyone tell me how to make a hindged or sliding door please.

Look in the script library for door scripts. Drop script into raw cube prim, It becomes a hinged door.
Hinged doors are cut cubes. Half of it is cut away so the hinge edge is actually the mid-point of the prim. A script in the prim controls rotation.
Sliding doors are any prim with a sliding door script in it. Most door scripts have a variable for sliding or rotating action.
