I cannot seem to find the answer to this question anywhere, and if it's a duplicate, please forgive me. All I need to know how to do is to cut out a doorway from a one prim wall. Can someone please help me?
Thanks so much! Grace

Hollow will cut a hole in the middle of a prim, path cut wil cut a notch out of the edge. On the right of the object tab in the edit window.

There are several ways to do this:
1. Make the door a transparent part of the texture that goes on the wall, and then make the whole wall phantom. People will be able to walk through the entire wall, since it's all phantom, but most will naturally gravitate toward what most obviously looks like a doorway.
-OR-
2. Rotate the cube the wall is made out of so that the front and back surfaces are actually the top and bottom. In other words, rotate it 90 degrees on X or Y, so that the cube's Z axis is pointing forward/backward, instead of up/down. Now cut the cube from 0.875 to 0.375. Hollow it a bit, and you'll have carved out a physical doorway. Note, the drawbacks to this method are that the doorway can only be in the center of the wall, it will have the same proportions as the wall, and the wall itself can only be a maximum of 5 meters tall since the prim it's made out of was cut in half.
-OR-
3. Make the wall out of a sculpty.
-OR-
4. Make the wall out of more than just one prim. Unless you're really strapped for prims, this is generally the best way to go.
