Floating Roof

I wanted to build a simple garage type structure (I'm new to building in second life so I figured this would be a good way to start) So bascially I used one square for the main stucture (hollowed it out, took the front off) and then used another one just stretched out for the top. I made them both physical, but when I dropped the roof on it hovers above the other prim and I'm not sure why. I'm attaching a picture. Am I just totally missing something? Is there a better way to go about this? Thank you in advance.

Do you need the physical properties so that the building can be knocked down when your SL wife backs into the garage? If not, turn physical off and manually lower the roof.

Dunno what's causing it to float like that, but that's all I've got in ideas on it from the pic.

What's causing it to float is the way the physics engine works. There's always a small space between physical objects, due to the way Havoc handles collisions in SL. I believe the discrepancy is 10 cm, but I'm sure someone will correct me if my memory is off on the specific number.

So you know, there's almost never any cause to make a building physical. Physical objects are those that need to be affected by forces such as gravity and momentum. Buildings don't generally fit that bill. The only reason you'd want a building to be physical would be if you want to be able to knock it down. If you want it to stay put, turn its physics off.

Thank you guys, turning the physics off worked perfect, I'm kinda new to the building thing in SL so any advice is very much welcome.
