Prim problem or SL glitch?

Yet another perms issue. I searched Jira, but there are so many little glitches ...

I have a modified prefab that I'm packing into a rezzer. 5 linksets, all mod/copy, a mix of my prims and the prefab's creator. I do the rezzer recording thing and take copies of all linksets into inventory - 3 show as mod/copy, 2 as copy only. I rez one of the copy only linksets - when rezzed, I can modify it. I take it into inventory, it still shows as nomod.

What gives? Is this going to bite me later? I want the whole thing to be mod/copy when I rez it, as the original has been.

I'm assuming this recording action injects scripts into the prims?

When a prim contains a no mod script made by someone else, it will show no mod in your invent, even though you can modify it when rezzed (and of course set mod permissions). If the no mod script is your own, the item shows mod. This system doesn't make a lot of sense, I know

The symptom fits, but not the cause.

I'm using Builder's Buddy, so I'm using full perm scripts made by my alt, and I dropped them into the root prims manually. ("Recording" just collects position info). I just checked, the scripts are full perm both in my inventory and in the prims. And, the one "BB components" script is the only script in the linkset.

3 of the linksets show as copy/mod, the other 2 not. I'm very puzzlepated.

I sure hope I don't have to sort through these rather large linksets prim by prim to find a borked one.

Hmm not sure what to tell you then. I've never experienced anything like that myself. The only reason those prims should show no mod that I know of is because of no mod content inside of them made by other creators.

Try on your alt maybe too? Or try clearing your cache? Maybe your inventory is somehow corrupted.
