OK, I feel like a dweeb...

OK, I feel like a total dweeb for asking this but I've just started playing and bought my first plot of land and everyone around me has beautiful houses and I can barely stick two blocks together. What is the secret to learning to build things? Is there a good tutorial beyond the one I did on Help Island?

Also, where do I find my inventory? I've been given several objects and bought some clothing items but when I go to "Appearance" the items I've bought don't show up there.

The Ivory Tower Library of Primitives. Do a find for it, it'll teach you most everything you need to know. It's like a visual step by step tutorial to building, with notecards that you can refer back to as you're working.

Also, if you haven't already, go to Yadni's Junk Yard and pick up his free boxes. There are boxes there with tons of textures that will let you make a good start.
