The only transparency supported in SL is in a TARGA, or .tga file.

Be sure to save it as 32-bit targa if it has transparency. If no transparency, then 24-bit targa is preferred.

Hi
If you just want a totally clear texture contact me in world and i will send you one. if its an alpha texture you are trying to create then its best to read the sticky at the top of the texturing forum. that will tell you how to avoid the dreaded white halo etc

See the big orange sticky at the top of the texturing forum, entitled "Transparency & Alpha Channels: The Definitive Guide"? Read it.

So you know, JPEG format does not support transparency in any way. That's not an SL thing; that's a JPEG thing. For more info on the image formats SL can use, head over to the texturing forum and read the sticky entitled "Texture Size, Pixel Counts, Video Memory, and File Formats".

In other words, if you're wondering about textures, your answers are on the texturing forum. :D

On the subject of stickies I find it strange that we only have "tiny prims" and "permissions" on this forum.

Where's the skinny on linking, basic cutting, hollowing etc? You know, the stuff you answer every week :D Who do we beat with sticks to do that?
