Doorway problems

Hi there!
I've just begun to building my own house, and have managed to get the floor and walls together. I bought a door to install, and this is where my problem begins.

According to the Edit menu, the size of the door is X=0.060, Y=3.000 and Z=2.750, so I figured I'd just take 10 (the length of the wall) minus the width of the door (3) and divide it in two to get two wall pieces on each side of the door. The problem is, with this calculation the walls gets to small, and won't cover up the full space to the door.

What am I missing? Any ideas on how to do instead?

You mention that the door is 3m wide. If the door functions like a swinging hinged door, it may have had a cut applied to it, in which case the width will be 2x the visible width. Try 1.5m in your calculation.
