No Suitable Surface to Sit On....

Can anyone please explain to me what generates this error message and why? I've created some benches using the cylinder shape that are curved. I can only sit on the benches in a couple of spots, the rest of them all give me a "no suitable surface to sit on" message when I try to sit.

I've tried unlinking them, setting the left-click properties to "sit," resizing them, nothing seems to work. Nothing comes up on searches through any of the SL website either......

Help?

Could you not just put a few sit target scripts in the bench?
The usual scriptless sit doesn't work well most of the time.

You're surely looking for one of these pages -
wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlSitTarget
rpgstats.com/wiki/index.php?title=LlSitTarget
(Remember to specify rotation in radians. For π, simply type the capitalized "PI".)

The only trouble with this is, people sitting end up unable to pick their own sitting position. I suppose if you wanted that, you could build an invisible Box prim right over the whole seat. Boxlike shapes are generally easier to sit on.

I too have noticed that the abilty to set on objects has been really messed up lately. Often takes me multiple attemtps to sit on a large flat prim.
