I made a ice skating ring. I have the problem that my enclosure around ring is not the same colour as you see on picture. What can I do that I would get the same colours. You can see this problem here: http://lebinca.com/ring.PNG

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unless we're talkinga bout two different things, it looks to me like the perfectly normal effect of lighting. The floor surface is facing upward toward the sun, whereas the sides are facing horizantally, perpendicular to the sunlight. More light is reflecting off the floor, so it appears brighter than the sides. The same thing would happen with any similarly shaped object in RL.

If you want to cancel out the effects of lighting, then set the surfaces to Full Bright. You'll find that option on the Texture tab in the editor. I'll warn you, though, the result won't look realistic in any way. In RL, the way our eyes distinguish walls from floors is by the way they're shaded. It's no different in the computer. If the light is coming from above, horizontal surfaces will be lighter than vertical ones.

What I do find puzzling is why your floor itself is two-tone. That just looks like odd texturing. To fix that, simply apply a better texture.

Or did I not understand your question?

Can it be that the floor is made of 2 prims, one with full bright checked, the other one with fullbright unchecked ?

Just been to visit you place (you are offline) and I can see exactly what the problem here is with your ice rink

It's a Texture Problem.

Not your fault, but you have chosen a not repeating (non seamless) texture for the icr surface, the texute is slighty darker at one end that the other.

If you rotate/mirror the texture on one of the blocks 180 degrees (poss flip the other way also) you will be able to line them up exacly.

That's all it is.

If I'm around and you come online, I'll happily do it for you.

Happy Christmas.
