1) Get onto the beta grid, where the new prims are live.

2) grab one of the sculpting textures, say, from here:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/torley/474819913/

3) go into photoshop and invert the image

4) upload and apply to sculpted prim.

Makes for a reversed-perspective sculptie of whatever you are working with, much like the negative space 'busts' that follow your eyes in Disney's haunted mansion (described here, for the uninitiate: http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images/view?back=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.search.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%2Fimages%3Fp%3Dhaunted%2Bmansion%2Bmask%26fr%3Dyfp-t-501%26toggle%3D1%26cop%3Dmss%26ei%3DUTF-8&w=180&h=201&imgurl=www.grimghosts.com%2Fsecrets%2Fsecret_bust.jpg&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.grimghosts.com%2Fsecrets%2FMajorFX.html&size=50.8kB&name=secret_bust.jpg&p=haunted+mansion+mask&type=jpeg&no=4&tt=5&oid=3e817a385a8c3a5c&ei=UTF-8 )

Fun!

And no blender, maya or any of that needed either...

Desmond, the more I know about you, the cooler I think you are. When I get depressed about SL or think that SL if full of panty sniffing griefers, I remember Caledon and your level head and it keeps me inspired!

Thanks.

This is equivalent to mirror-flipping the model along all 3 axes, which is equivalent to mirror-flipping it on only 1 axis, which results in the order of the the verts on each poly being reversed, which results in the surface normal pointing inward. It's the same reason a sphere prim twisted 180 on both ends appears "inside-out."
