I went to an Anshe Chung themed area, Swanson Schliegel, or something. They have the coolest streetlights there. They kinda pulse with a soft hazy light. Soooo nice.

How did they do that?

I have not seen that - But probably its a particle effect.

You can learn more by visiting - its in the sky TP up: Teal 180, 74, 21 (PG)

But from now the light effects (also?) can be done by using edit:

Make a box and start testing! its fun!

PetGirl is right, it is a particle effect. Search for Particle Lab in find places (if it is still there) to learn more about particles.

Apart from the particle method, there is also a hidden function in the debug menu. To turn the debug menu on, hit ctrl-alt-D.

Go to Debug > Rendering > Light Glows

Try and rez a prim and set it to become a light. You should see a halo around it, as you described. I suspect this will be a future feature that you can set on prims to cast a glow, but for now, its just experimental.

It does however look quite pleasant, especially on larger prims, where you can't do it with particles.

Its fantastic - a torch fade from and back in light - lamps glow.. in another style. But who many know about it?

And remember its the viewer that decide to use it or NOT in preferences-.. and is it same at AL kind of cards - monitors? Curious.

/Tina - I that do EXAKT lamps with light in SL
