I have a curved cylindrical object, and am trying to create additional curves. To achieve the desired effect without totally messing with the skin (object is allready textured and loaded into SL) I think I will need to create some sort of pivot point or a series of pivot point prims along the length of the object. How do I create a pivot point out of an existing prim? Is there anything I can do to have the texture compensate for the change in shape, or is that not really an issue? I have access to photoshop and 3d studio. Any input is welcome. Thanks!

pivot point or a set of linked objects is the main object or parent object... only one at a time.. if you set a rotation in a child, I believe it will just rotate on its own, while if the parent rotates, all the child prims will rotate around it.

Ahh, I remember experimenting with some scripting where I had an object orbit a linked object... That makes sense. Perhaps this is going to be more a matter of redesigning the shape of the object itself than having a pivot point and bending the object where I need to. Would it be possible to download an object from SL to a program like 3d studio or is it pretty much locked in there?
