I dont want to be told out right... Research isthe rout to knowledge not being handed everything... but hints and pointing in the right direction would be greatfully recieved...

It is most commonly called InvisiPrim, and couldn't be simpler :)

Drop this script into any prim and the script will delete itself after it has done it's magic.

CODE
//strife onizuka (c)
//string cloak = "e97cf410-8e61-7005-ec06-629eba4cd1fb"; //simple cloak
string cloak = "38b86f85-2575-52a9-a531-23108d8da837"; //uber cloak, hides 95% of prims

default
{
state_entry()
{
llSetPrimitiveParams([PRIM_TEXTURE, ALL_SIDES, cloak, <0,0,0>, <0.475, 0.5, 0>, 0.0, PRIM_BUMP_SHINY, ALL_SIDES, PRIM_SHINY_NONE, PRIM_BUMP_BRIGHT]);
llRemoveInventory(llGetScriptName());
}
}

Just make sure when you are building your shoes that you are not in a sim, such as some of the sandboxes, where scripts are disabled. I just about killed myself trying to get this to work on my first pair of shoes (putting the script in, fuming as it didn't work, taking it out, putting it in again....over and over and over...)

when I finally realized that the sandbox I was working in had "No Scripts" enabled.

Duh.

Shoes look fine, now.
