Permission issues

Oke, I profess I'm totally baffled by the following situation:

I built a custom 32x32 platform with a building on it. The building is ~50 prims, all full perm. All textures used are full-perm. The platform is, in essence a proximity rezzer. When the platform owner (and a specific set of people) come near, it rezzes the building on top of it (after up to 60 secs). When no one is near anymore, it de-rezzes the building after a few minutes, with everything in it leaving only the bare platform behind. So far so good. It works well, doesn't create noticeable lag during idle. The whole structure including all scripts is set to fullperm, and "Everyone can copy".

I gave the platform to a friend. It works fine for her, except she cannot modify it AT ALL. The whole thing shows fullperm, but "Take Copy" is greyed out. If she takes the rezzed building, it shows as no copy/no mod/no trans in her inventory. If I give her the building and she rezzes it by hand... same thing. The rezzed copy shows fullperm with all proper permissions. Once she takes it, it reverts to no permissions.

Considering I built it in its entirety and know I built it ALL fullperm, even allowing everyone who happens to come across it to take a copy, what the heck is going on here? What am I missing?

I did btw search the jira, but didn't find anything useful in that mess.

Usually the answer is that somewhere in some random prim somewhere there's a script that you forgot to set to full perms, or you used a texture somewhere that was not full perm. Despite best intentions, I do that all the time. :( It's a pain, but you have to go through and check every blessed one till you find it..... and hope there's just one.

I'm reasonably sure there's no restricted texture on it, let alone restricted script... but to be sure I'll toss the one script that IS in there, out, and reset all textures to default. Can always retexture it. :)

Make sure that every content of every object in the platform's inventory is full perms. Also, make sure you set their perms INWORLD, not in inventory (object's or avatar's).

I have a short tube/cylinder (that's all it is) that I don't have full perms on.

I must have made it 6 to 9 months ago (I was making railings around my house)

It was back in my inventory (i'd forgotton about it) and I used it again and wondered why I did not have full rights on a build I was working on.

Yes, it was my tube again.

I'll have to see if I have still got it.

Very odd.

Just found it.

A tube, owned and made by me.

I can copy and mod it, but I can't sell or transfer it.

Odd huh.

The permissions bug happens from time to time. I had to rebuild an entire piece of furniture once because of it.

What you need to do is unlink the whole thing and go through piece by piece until you find the one that is throwing off the perms. When you get one like piggie has, the only thing to do is copy the settings onto another prim and delete it. There is no recovery.
