This may be part of the texture problem, or it may be me, or just another bug. Since updateing to the "optional" client, has anyone had problems with sizing a prim, and then it will suddenly start chaning sizes on it's own realative to the point you just changed? Its really pissing me off having to size the same prim 4 or 5 times because it doesn't want to behaive itself.

ok just to make sure are you altering a linked prim or just a single prim object? Sometimes linked prims will not work right as it checks for linking rules and resizes/alters itself to adjust.

More commonly, packet loss will cause a sporadic "revert" effect. Your client resizes the prim and sends data to the server to match, but packet loss causes the data to never get there, and when the client periodically "syncs" with the server and finds out that what it thinks the prim size is does not match the server's size, it "reverts" the prim. There are other issues that cause this besides packet loss, but they are less common and more difficult to figure out the cause.

It's a real pain in the ass, but fairly common. So common in fact that I have had several days in the last few months where I decide that it's simply too much trouble trying to be a constructive SL resident and just sign out for the day.

Ditto... really discourages me from building at all. :(

I have had it happen both with linked items when using the subselect and when just working on a single prim. Its definatly annoying. But it seems that its only started since that last optional patch, atleast for me. I figured "ok, ill just download the current release vs the optional one and it should be fine." but then I knowticed the current release listed for download IS the "optional" one :/

I have found the same problem a lot more recently too. It alos effects it when using the scroll controls in the edit window adn when altering texture sizes.
This is obviously something that can be fixed as it was not like this before. Hopefully in a year or two LL may get around to looking at it

hopefully ive kinda gotten a work around. HUD attachment called Prim.Docker. Place a script in each existing prim, or spawn one of the std prims but do it from the hud so the script is already in it, and it can duplicate position, size, rotation, and texture information between prims, including aligning and filling in gaps.
