Heya,

Can you choose the location on a prim where the attach point is? I want to create a staff and want to select where on the staff the avatar puts their hands.
I did a search through the forums but I can't find anything about it.

Thanks in advance,

Dee

Make your staff out of several prims, linked to form an object. When you attach the staff to your avatar's hand, it will attach to the staff's root prim, so be sure that the prim you want to grab onto is the last one you link in the set.

Unless I'm misunderstanding what Rolig is saying, there's no need to make the staff out of multiple prims. A single cylinder will work just fine. Here's what to do:

1. Attach the staff to your avatar's hand.

2. Optionally, park the avatar on a posing stand, to freeze all animations. This will make placing the attachment easier. Edit the staff (while it's attached), and move it into the position you want it, relative to the hand.

3. Detach the staff, and then next time you attach it, use the Wear command instead of the Attach To command. It will automatically go back to the last position you had it in before you detached it.
