Hi I'm rather new to building. I have the flame script, but I'm not sure what to do with it. Is there a texture I need? I tried changing the color of the prim, I tried making it invisble, lol. Help would be appreciated. :P

I would like to make a flame pit, but most importantly a flame for a lantern. Thanks!

EDIT: ok, NVM I figured it out! Thanks!

Yes you do need a flame texture. Look for cool pics of flames
then you will also need a a paint program in which you can make
an alpha layer.
Take the flame texture and cut everything our except for the flame leaving the flame you want to show on the alpha layer
which I believe you will need to save as a .tga file in 32 bit
format.
Make at least two flame alphas that are almost the same but slightly different. at this point can put them on flat prims
and juxtapose them and link at 90 degree angles.

Then you add the fire script which I believe needs to be in the root prim.

However I am still learning this process myself. When I tried this method it sort of worked. but not as good as I have seen others do.

Hopefully adding this post will cause others to look here.

And we can both get some good additional info.
