If you are looking at the permissions in your inventory, it will display the more restrictive set relating to the pose ball or other embedded content. But if you rez the chair in-world, you should find that you still have full perms on the chair, and only the pose ball (or the animation and/or script used in it) is actually restricted.

thanks for your reply, naturally i unlinked the poseball again, to be able to send it, now even with the poseball unlinked and deleted the permissions stayed "no trans" also i am not able to change copy/mod permissions on that item. i am pretty sure i did not take this copy to inventory and re-rezzed it. *i was lucky to find the copy i transferred a few days ago, which still has the proper permissions still very nasty bug, would have taken me hours to re-create

From: Salvador Nakamura (send it to a another av) Oh, was it the original that you sent? Once the next owner's permissions kick in, they are lost to you also, unless you keep a separate copy for yourself.

If you gave it to another avatar, and then took it back from them, that copy will have had the "Next owner" permissions set on it, and there is no way or it to recognize that you created it and had better permissions earlier. Always save a copy of your creations for yourself, that you haven't transferred to anyone else yet.

to be more clear, i created a chair and a desk, i then selected both of them, and took a copy back to my inventory, not sure when i set no trans, could have been before but also after taken to inventory ? now i notice that with the original still rezzed i cant change the permissions, and are no-trans ? , even if i did take it back to inventory , that shouldnt happen , should it ?! *as said the original in inventory was fine

Sounds like a glitch then. If you never transferred ownership, you should be able to change permissions on anything you made. Those settings are only supposed to affect the NEXT owner, after you give ro sell it to someone else.
I have had prims get corrupted in a way that changed their perms. I just finished a 2000+ prim commercial building, and when I wanted to make a backup to inventory of the nearly-complete build, I was told part of it was no-copy. Impossible, because I built every pri, made every texture, and wrote every script in it!. So I went though it, linkset by linkset, until I found one that was no-copy. Found that, and narrowed it down to one un-linked prim in a wall, that had somehow become no-copy. I had to delete that prim and replace it with a new one to fix the building.

*as said the original in inventory was fine I had this happen to a build of mine a couple months ago. I built a structure. Then I linked the structure to some decorative prim trees that were copy/notrans. I never took a copy of the build by itself before I linked to the no transfer items. Now, even when I unlink completely or unlink the no transfer pieces, I can't get my own build back to correct perms. I never bothered to look for a JIRA, because I still wonder if this is "intended" behavior... even though it's quite inconvenient when stuff like this happens.

Ok try this, select said object in your inventory, select properties and change the permissions there, if you can of course. I had this problem and that solved it, but have no idea why it worked.

just an update on my post, this problem had happened to me a couple months back and i hadn't messed around with the item since then.. i only kept the original item with the no trans stuff linked to it.. i rezzed, unlinked it all and just linked my pieces, and it was fine, worked just as hoped and gave me full perms. so perhaps i only unlinked certain prims before and forgot to unlink 1 no trans prim, it's hard to know because it seemed like i did what i just did today before... prrrobably user error in my situation, but who knows. lol.
good luck to the OP.

I got this problem too < I built some new shops and made the mistake of using no transfer windows from anothe shop in my inventory, since I linked them to the windows when moving it around even after unlinking and putting bits into my inventory and rerezzing them, they are still no transfer and even though I created and own them and never gave them to anyone else, I can't reset the permisions. I thought it was a standard SL feature

I have a house like this...any ideas how to fix it? Can it be fixed? The entire build is mine except for a few full perm window textures.
