Wings3D 0.98.3 won't open on MacBook Pro

UPDATE: I just discoved that the "Development Rel: 0.98.36" will open on my Mac, oddly enough the "Latest Stable Rel: 0.98.32a" will not.

Anyone else experience difficulty getting Wings3D to install on Mac OS 10.4.9?

I followed the usual steps to install an application, described below. End up with the applicaition on my desktop, can see the wings icon and even view the contents of the application, but when I try to open it, it starts to open ( appears in dock) then immediatly closes.

Q:How do I install Wings3D on Mac OSX

Installation is very simple. (basically, download then double-click)

Step 1 is to go to http://www.wings3d.com/

On the left side of the screen is a list of stable releasees. Click mac.

Then, from the popup window, select a mirror from the list and click download.

You will download a file: wings-x.xx.xx-macosx.dmg

Double Click It

Once it has expanded, (a folder should popup, if it doesnt open the Wings 3d image off the desktop), Drag the Wings3D application to the applications folder.

I'm using Wings 3D .098.36 on my MacBook Pro (10.4.9). It crashes frequently. I am using it just to use Omei's exporter, not for modelling and it is getting the job done. Also I can only use Omei's version, not Strife's version.

The location for installing this plug in was not easy to find so I'm adding it here:

Plug in location on Wings for Mac:

Select Wings3D 0.98.36
Ctrl click, select "show package contents"... the path to where you place the plug in is:

Wings3D 0.98.36/Contents/Resources/lib/wings-0.98.36/plugins/import_export
