first: sorry about my english... i'm from europe.

now my problem: i'm working at my house on my "first land". select a prim and typing some numbers for the z-axis into the edit window. making some mistake and the prim is going in a very high level. 1107 meters? 10107m? no idea? how i can find the lost prim? see some blue dots on the map, but they are from my building at the ground. and can't use "send all prims back to the owner" because i dont like to rebuild my house on my parcel.

Thx Pat

English is from Europe too! :p

And your English is just fine :)

Well, if you're typing in the edit box and you realise straight away, the answer is NOT to deselect the thing and type the correct Z value. Even if it's out of sight or reach, if you have it selected, it's still manipulable.

If you did already deselect it, then I can only suggest you do what I used to do, put on a jetpack and press page up til you see it :)

Or, sit on a cube and set it's Z dimension to where you think you might have sent it.

After all, since you only entered the wrong Z dimension, it'll be directly above where you had it... somewhere...

Oh, also remember that there is a maximum ceiling for prim building. If it hasn't changed, I believe you can only send a prim to 768m using edit, regardless of typing in a larger value. So if you typed in 10,000 it wont be at 10,000 at all. It'll be at 768m. So go there on your prim first :) (heh, Chosen already beat me to that bit. n/m)

Hi Patrick. Welcome to SL. :)

Don't worry too much about number typos. It happens to the best of us. The good news is the editor cannot move any object higher than 768M. You could type 1107 or 10107 or 1010101010107 and it will still end up at 768.

The simplest way to find the object is stand where you see the blue dot on the map. Then rez a cube and sit on it. Edit the cube and type in 768 for the Z position. If the runaway object is up there, you'll see it. If you don't see it, it's probably not that high. Simply lower the height of the cube your sitting on until you run into the object.
