What the hell is wrong with SL? I come back after several months off and keep having nothing but permission issues when I am building. I am a long time Skidz Primz user and have never had these problems of my own created works becoming No Modify/No Transfer.

Yes, I have enabled the Finished option removing all Skidz scripts from my prims.

Yes, I have verified that I am using no third party scripts or textures. Everything so far is my own creation.

I can rez the 128 prim object and modify. But, when it is in my inventory, it says no modify no transfer. WTF. So, now I can't give my object to my alt which has become my main avatar.

The object states that I am both the creator and the owner so WTFBBQ why can't I transfer the freaking god damn item?!?!?!

I want to scream loud curse words right now but I'll refrain....FRACKING SL!!!!!!!

I ran into this last week while attempting to build a neko tail. I assumed the reason was due to the fact that it was a combined effort between my main and my alt, even though I had taken precautions, set it to full modify and made sure that my alt and my main could work on each other's objects. I only got so far as linking it all together when I got the permission error.

Well, my alt was never involved in building the space barge. I just wanted to give it to him to complete the process because this account is being retired and becoming an inventory storage av.

I guess I have no other choice but to restart from scratch and not use Skidz Primz because SL fracking sucks. I know exactly what happened. During the course of building, the creator of my object somehow got switched from me to Unknown. This fracks up the permissions as I had this happen to me during the early part of building and had to start all over.

So, I guess it is back to using stupid SL prims that don't auto-align and its like pulling teeth just to get their prims to align properly...which is why I always used Skidz Primz. But, these primz having so many scripts in them just confuses SL.

I am *THIS* close to just calling it quits, going back to an MMORPG and simply waiting for a better virtual world product to be produced. You know, when I'm working on my web site, sometimes various modules are installed that sets owner permissions differently. As a result, I cannot modify files or delete/add folders. A quick email to my web hosting company and they reset the file permissions for me. My object in SL supposedly has a unique UUID. Why can't SL tech support reset permissions in the same way?

God damn it, I really don't want to start building at all in SL if I've got to constantly worry about permissions getting FRACKED UP.

God damn it, why is SL allowed to exist in this state? I'm so sick of booting it up and seeing the same fracking problems: asset server issues, login issues, sims going down. GOD DAMN. GOD DAMN. GOD DAMN.

Frack.

It sounds like you put something inside of one of the prims that is no mod/ no transfer. With 128 prims it would be easy to overlook.

Yeah, this happened recently to me too with a collaborator, but in our case it was a much more mundane thing. An ill-advised shift-copy was followed by deleting the "good" copy, which the asset server dutifully failed to return.

Though people tend to recoil in horror at its very mention, a situation like this is when the software formerly known as copybot has redeeming value, it's really the only way to have a safe backup of your own work given Second Life's inventory track record. Scripts and notes can already be preserved with copy/paste, other content has to begin outside SL anyway so you have a chance with those.

FRACK. FRACK. FRACK.

I am an idiot. I invite anyone to come to this thread and call me a moron. Whatever you like, you can bash me for being a fracking idiot. SL WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. I WAS THE PROBLEM. Me and my stupid bad tempered self did not follow directions and when a problem occurred, I come here and blame SL. So, please tar and feather me. Call me an idiot. Lock this thread. I totally deserve it.

For anyone who is familiar with Skidz Primz, before one can use it for the first time, they must do a bit of setting up of the tools so that when a person rezzes a Skidz Primz, it rezzes with them as the creator. I had taken a break from SL for about six months. When I recently came back, I began to build with the last version of Skidz Primz that I had. Obviously these prims were created with me as the creator.

However, during the course of building, I upgraded my tools without realizing I still needed to go through that setup process again. As a result, the rest of my project was created with the creator named Skidz Tweak, the default owner of the Skidz Primz tool. After using the setup option, I rezzed a basic prim and saw that I am now the owner of said object!

Using the Inspect tool, which I had never used before, gave me this realization. So big huge thanks to Zen for the suggestion. I feel so stupid and foolish for coming here and ranting against Second Life. I get so frustrated very easily with this platform because of all the other problems associated with it.

So, now I have to start over...but it won't be so bad. Building the second or third time is always easier than the first.
