Disable editing animation?

Hi,

Is there any way to disable the editing animation? I mean where the hand is directed to the object and also the back is twisted?

Changing to a higher-priority animation would solve it I think, but that's not an option here because I have animations to work with, and no means of changing their priority.

I know there are debug settings to disable the typing animation, but couldn't find one to disable the editing animation so far.

Search through the debug settings. It's probably in there somewhere.

Some kind of A/O (Animation Override), no?

Apparently not, well not selectively. There is a built-in "editing" animation shown in the viewer, but it's inaccessible to scripts. It doesn't leave any bread crumbs in llGetAnimationList(), and llStopAnimation() won't recognize that name. So, you would be stuck using stands and sits that do something with the left arm and run at a higher priority.

Actually I'm stuck with sits that use a lower priority because the higher priority ones will probably not be overwritten by the editing animation.

I managed to work around it by releasing the build after every move... Another option would have been to log on with a 2nd account. Still, I was hoping for a debug setting that I can't seem to find.

I finally got around to looking a little more closely, and the only debug setting you could use to shut off this feature would be DisableRendering which might be just a teensy bit of overkill, huh?

RD Answer:

Pose stand.

Full story:

If you put your av on a pose stand prior to or during the building phase and just cam around your build, most pose stands (that I've found) will keep you in the default pose for the stand. I don't believe this would work with an AO, but I guess it could be tried.

You'll still have the dots from your hand to your object, so if your intention is to not let people know you're editing something half the sim away, you're not going to accomplish that. The dots are only turned off by the person viewing. I.E. you can't turn them off on someone else's computer, only on your own.

Personally, I just get completely out of the way when editing, or am I missing something here?
