Bridge crossing a sim - HELP!

Hey all, I built a bridge that crosses over a river between two sims (both part of the same estate and I'm the estate manager). And when you walk across it and hit the sim boundary, well... everything goes haywire. Usually, you fall right through the first prim on the other side of the boundary. Sometimes you pop back up a couple of seconds later, other times you end up underwater. GRRR.

I know that folks have successfully done this. What's the secret?

When you cross a sim border, prims can not be solid on the new sim for up to 2 seconds.
