Shapemaker Tool for Laymans

Hi can ayone give me step by step instructions on how to use the shapemaker tool, I know it has a card with it but it simply isn't clear enough for me(very new to SL). I'd really really appretiate any help.

The wording on the card is a bit awkward but it is a very straightforward tool. The best thing to do is to take it to a sand box and play with it for an afternoon until you get the hang of it. You can do some serious damage if you use it incorrectly in a populated area.

Basically it listens (cant remember if it's channel 11 or 12), for you to tell it the parameters of the shape you want to make. If you type "/11 report" (or maybe "/12 report", it will list out the settings it currently has stored. You talk to it on the same channel, telling it the settings you want.

When you are ready, you repeat the "sides" parameter, followed by "/12 rez" which is like telling it how many prims to res. Then repeat the "radius" parameter" and it will make the shape.

IT IS MOST IMPORTANT TO TYPE "/11 freeze" AFTER YOU HAVE THE SHAPE YOU WANT. Otherwise the very next command will screw up your shape.

Thanks for the reply, Ive been messing with it but i keep getting "couldnt find shapeblock" when i try to rez anything with the shapemaker tool, it's getting a little frustrating everyone is telling me to just look at the notecard but thats not helping at all.

Where can you get a shapemaker tool? I looked for it, but could not find one.

That's odd, Rhys. Where did you get your copy of ShapeMaker? If it can't find ShapeBlock that means that the ShapeBlock object is no longer in its inventory. I can't think of any way for that to happen besides someone removing it. The best solution is probably to get a new copy from my land in Ohno (check my profile). If you're tring to build something specific, one option might be to hire an experienced builder. But if you can describe the shape you're trying to make here, I'll try to tell you roughly the steps you need to take. (I won't remember the exact commands, so you'll still need to understand the notecard).
