Hi Folks
First off - thanks to everyone for the great tutorials. I have followed Gaia's and Johans tuts on creating a mesh from outlines and love the results I am getting except when I get to the Sculptify Object part.
Why is it that that the object appears to get unwrapped in the UV window as opposed to seeing the sculpt map?
I am sure I am missing something trivial but its not jumping out at me.
Thanks in advance.

"Sculptify Objects" does just that: It unwraps the object to a square UV-map. Not more. BTW this operation does not work on all sorts of objects. Those created from Outlines + spin work. You also can sculptify NURBS. I tried to sculptify the default cube. It works somehow, but does not create good initial result. You need to refine it...
If you want to see the actual sculpt-map at the end, you still have to
"Render -> Bake sculpt meshes".
Does that answer your question ? Or is it something else where you have a problem ?

Hi Gaia
That's what is odd. I followed the tutorial step by step. When I hit Sculptify, the vertices are all jumbled up in the UV Editor window as opposed to being laid out in a square.
In your tut as soon as you hit Sculptify and then when into edit mode -- there was a color map in the UV window(not baked yet) . When I do it -- the vertices are jumbled together. If I take it any further -- the map will bake inside the jumbled vertices.

From: CCTV Giant That's what is odd. I followed the tutorial step by step. When I hit Sculptify, the vertices are all jumbled up in the UV Editor window as opposed to being laid out in a square. I can not reproduce the effect by any means. If you like to do so, then create a blend file and proceed to just before you hit the sculptify button. save that as a blend file, then hit the sculptify button and create just another blend file (save as). Send both files to me. I can take a quick look at it. Maybe i see immediately what is going on... gaia.clary@machinimatrix.org

Thanks to Gaia for her tireless support. FYI -- This was an instance of having residual JASS items left over which was causing issues with the Sculptify -- if you have a similiar issue - remove the software and double check to make sure windows does it job CC
