Here is a brief glossary of terms in common usage among residents of Linden. Please let me know about any inaccuracies or missing items as soon as possible. I hope to have the finished version on the stands before the public arrives.

I had many more terms, but decided to shorten the list to the current 86 in order not to scare new players, and so that I can put it all in one note card. There will likely be more terms added, and several removed, before final publication.

So, again, please send me any additions, corrections, or suggestions.

What about "IM Coma" (n)- a state in which one person, usually a liason, is not responding to vocal IW statements, because they are bombarded with IMs. (ie. Char won't respond, she appears to be in an IM coma)?

Great list, btw :D

A normal say or chat can be heard out to 30 meters. A shout is out to 100 meters. And for scripters, a whispers range is 10 meters.

Nitpicking here, but...

I usually hear 'prim' more than 'prime', since it's an abbreviated form of 'primitive', which is used to describe the basic shapes used for SL objects.

Thanks for your input, Folks. The first edition has been packaged and released. Send me an IM if you'd like a copy. They're free. Those who already have one should feel free to pass out copies.

Future editions will have plenty of room for businesses to advertise in the Sponsors' Page. Send me - at least - your company name, your name, your location, and an LM.

A short blurb about your business or service is also a good idea :-)

Next step: distribution channels need to be created. (Yikes!)

Thanks, Folks, for helping us get our first publication out the door concurrent with public release of Second Life.
