I was wondering how to make this shape... I don't know if its more then one prim but to me it looks like only one..

It is a single prim. Since I'm not in game to test it, I can speculate that it's a hollowed and pathcut Torus or Ring. One makes a great spool shape if you thin the hole size, but with a larger hole size would accomplish this shape.
