Anchor a Flexi Prim?

Hi, I hope this isn't a stupid question(!)

I've only just started 'torturing' flexi prims - and I'm trying to create a rope that connects two objects together... i.e one that 'attaches' at both ends.

Trouble is... I can't see any way to 'anchor' the floaty, loose end. I've managed to tweak the necessary parameters to suit requirements in all other ways, but when I move the completed and linked object sideways, one end of the 'rope' detaches from the object and dances on the wind.

As much as I appreciate it's bid for freedom... I really need to anchor it.

Is this possible?

Hello Cat!

If I understand you correctly, you're wanting to attach another prim to the end of a flexi prim. This cannot be done. Flexi prims will always fly about at one end.

You're welcome Cat!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I wish you the best with Plan B, or C, or D....or um....yeah...even E if it comes to that! :)

Thanks Ari :)

Yep... I really did end up at 'Plan E'.... Got around it by torturing a torus (poor thing... all bruised and battered it is now)... lost the grace of a swaying rope, but retained the required arc shape. It's a solution that works well enough, so I'm content with that.

Now I must go and give my tortured eyes a rest.

Thanks again for sharing your knowledge. You saved me from hours of plodding on the road to nowhere. Most grateful :)

Best wishes,
Cat

Well Cat I'm thrilled you were able to make your work! Plan E isn't TOO bad :)

Don't worry about torturing the poor prims. I believe they secretly like the attention.

Best,
~Ari
